What is the SAFE consortium? SAFE is the European Association for Food Safety, a platform of organisations interested in food safety primarily research bodies: Institutes, Universities, National and International Societies, Government Authorities (or groups within these organisations) and also Food Industry and Food-Related Industry SAFE is a non-profit, non-governmental international association registered in Belgium in 2002. SAFE receives no government or other funding but is self-sustainable based on its work and the contributions of its members. SAFE consortium is fully independent.

What does SAFE do? The mission of the SAFE consortium is to keep food safety on the agenda. SAFE aims to stimulate the public debate in Europe on the scientific aspects of food safety by making available up-to-date knowledge from organisations whose scientific integrity is guaranteed by the unlimited right to publish in the public interest.
