Lesson 37: The Sacrifice of Praise Nothing Better Lesson 37: The Sacrifice of Praise

Hebrews 13:15-16 15 By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name. 16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

INTRODUCTION: Our Christian aspiration, both individually and collectively, should be to live our life as a sacrifice of praise to God.

LIVING LIFE AS A SACRIFICE OF PRAISE: BY HIM (Heb. 13:15a) 15 By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God …

LIVING LIFE AS A SACRIFICE OF PRAISE: BY HIM (Heb. 13:15a) 15 By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God … We are to live lives as sacrifices of praise to God through His Son, Jesus Christ, who is the real sacrifice.

LIVING LIFE AS A SACRIFICE OF PRAISE: BY HIM (Heb. 13:15a) Jesus Christ: the Sacrifice for our Sins

LIVING LIFE AS A SACRIFICE OF PRAISE: BY HIM (Heb. 13:15a) Jesus Christ: the Sacrifice for our Sins Jesus, once and for all, brought about forgiveness and remission of sins through His death on the cross.

LIVING LIFE AS A SACRIFICE OF PRAISE: BY HIM (Heb. 13:15a) Our Lives: a Sacrifice of Gratitude & Response

LIVING LIFE AS A SACRIFICE OF PRAISE: BY HIM (Heb. 13:15a) Our Lives: a Sacrifice of Gratitude & Response It isn’t a sacrifice of atonement that we’re asked to live; it is a sacrifice of praise to God because of what Jesus has already done.

LIVING LIFE AS A SACRIFICE OF PRAISE: CONTINUALLY (Heb. 13:15b) 15 By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually …

LIVING LIFE AS A SACRIFICE OF PRAISE: CONTINUALLY (Heb. 13:15b) 15 By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually … We are to live as sacrifices of praise to God not just in some occasional activities, but in the continual rhythm of our lives. We are called to a whole-life act of worship where we view ourselves and everything we do as a sacrifice of praise to God.

LIVING LIFE AS A SACRIFICE OF PRAISE: GIVING THANKS (Heb. 13:15c) 15 … that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name.

LIVING LIFE AS A SACRIFICE OF PRAISE: GIVING THANKS (Heb. 13:15c) 15 … that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name. It ought to be instinctive that praise and thanksgiving flow from our lips. We should live constantly aware of the mercies of God to us so that we are thankful all the time.

LIVING LIFE AS A SACRIFICE OF PRAISE: DOING GOOD (Heb. 13:16a) 16 But to do good … forget not ...

LIVING LIFE AS A SACRIFICE OF PRAISE: DOING GOOD (Heb. 13:16a) 16 But to do good … forget not ... Love God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself.

LIVING LIFE AS A SACRIFICE OF PRAISE: SHARING GENEROUSLY (Heb. 13:16b) 16 But to … communicate forget not …

LIVING LIFE AS A SACRIFICE OF PRAISE: SHARING GENEROUSLY (Heb. 13:16b) 16 But to … communicate forget not … Put your money where your mouth is by sharing or giving liberally to others – especially those who are in need.

CONCLUSION:

CONCLUSION: In light of what God has done for us in Christ, the only reasonable thing for us to do is to offer ourselves as a sacrifice of praise by being thankful to God; by doing good to others; and by being generous with what we have.

CONCLUSION: God tells us exactly what we can do to please Him; all we have to do is just DO IT.

CONCLUSION: God tells us exactly what we can do to please Him; all we have to do is just DO IT. 16 … For with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
