DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION Notice: Elf For Hire The North Pole is looking for quality elves to work this Christmas season. Are you a hard-worker? Do you follow directions well? Can you create original toys and designs? If so, apply today! DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION DECEMBER 13TH

Directions You will be writing a persuasive paper to Santa about why you would be an excellent elf at the North Pole. First thing you need to do is brainstorm your ideas onto a graphic organizer! Santa loves to see that you do the prep work necessary to ensure that you always create a quality product!

What To Include In Your Rough Draft Introduction- Start with a short story about yourself, a question, quote, or interesting statement. Hook Santa’s attention with your first sentence! Then introduce that you want the job and the reasons that will be discussed in your body paragraphs. Body Paragraphs- Each body paragraph should highlight a reason why you would be an excellent elf! Make sure that you provide “evidence” as to why your reasons are correct. Conclusion- Wrap up your statements and thoughts here. Challenge the reader, ask a thought-provoking question, or restate your ideas in a new way.

Before You Can Submit Your Application….. You MUST edit and have a peer edit your work. Santa only wants the best candidates for the job. Spelling mistakes and bad grammar will get you on Santa’s Naughty List for sure! When working at the North Pole it is important to be able to design and create toys children will enjoy! Create a new toy that has never been invented before. Draw a picture of the toy and write a short description of it.
