What is Chuseok (추석)? Chuseok is the Korean Thanksgiving Day. Chuseok is essentially a celebration of a good harvest.  It is a three-day holiday in Korea celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar year. The date changes every year and it will on September 14th this year. It also known as Hangawi (한가위)  The great middle of (Autumn)

Chuseok clothes: Women’s Hanbok: Men’s Hanbok: Traditional women's hanbok consists of jeogori, a blouse shirt or a jacket and chima, a wrap-around skirt, which is usually worn full Men’s Hanbok:  consists of jeogori and baji which means pants in korean

What Korean people usually do in Chuseok? As a celebration of the good harvest, Koreans visit their  hometowns and spend time with their families. Family’s member visit their ancestors’ graves. Cut the grass around the grave  Which called Beolcho 벌초 Paid respect to the grave, often in the form of bowing before it and offering alcohol, fruits, and meat  Seongmyo 성묘 CHARYE 차례: preparing special foods table for the ancestors at home

Food eaten during Chuseok: Songpyeon 송편: is a rice cake made with beans or sesame inside it.  Hangwa 한과 :  It is an artistic food decorated with natural colors and textured with patterns. Hangwa is made with rice flour, honey, fruit, and roots.
