Heat & Heat Transfer Heat: Heat is energy! Heat is the energy transferred (passed) from a hotter object to a cooler object. Heat Transfer: The transfer.
It can be as easy as turning down a thermostat.
Terms to know: Conduction – heat transfer from direct contact with a source of thermal energy; energy is passed from particle to particle (happens most.

Gas Consumption (Heating) Lucia and Flo

Challenge “The goal is to encourage the efficient use of gas within halls of residence and to initiate behavior change towards gas consumption.”

Proposition We decided to step away from the main problem of radiators being on and windows left open by looking at alternative ways of keeping warm. Our solution to the problem involves introducing hot water bottles, window stickers, coasters and general reminders.

Phrases (window stickers) Keep it closed! Is your radiator turned down? Before you open your window, think!

Phrases (radiator stickers) Think! What is quicker? Stop! It’s quicker to boil your kettle.

Phrases (coasters) Welcome to Wales. Stay warm. Drink tea. Drinking tea is the best way to keep warm. Welcome to Cardiff. Stay warm. Make a cup of tea. Keep warm. Have a drink.

Phrases (labels) Feeling cold? Think! It’s quicker to boil your kettle… How about you fill this up instead? Why not use a hot water bottle?

Thank you!
