It is? The markets are moving: Given the advance of globalization, the decline of trade barriers and mobile workforce, the transport and logistics industry is growing more than average. Expanding its upstream and downstream services, the transport and logistics companies are dominating the supply chain forward and backward. International growth through acquisitions, alliances and joint ventures is shaping the industry. Under these conditions, new strategies and processes are required.

TRANSPORTERS Among the advantages of the transportation sector in Colombia highlights the acentred strong business sense, which has enabled the sector to have remarkable industrial levels Andean subregional level. The vocation of the transporters is innate and enabled them to develop skills for generations, which makes it a reliable industry, nationally and internationally speaking.

Recommendations for the cargo industry 1 It is important to address a comprehensive public policy in the sector, to continue and bring to fruition regulatory issues concerning economic relations with the tools of cost information system, monitoring system transactions and charge the electronic manifest. 2 It is essential to operationalize the model of supply and demand to improve regulatory decision making. 3 is imposed design and implementation of a policy of equipping and modernization that allows clear rules for registration, operation and decommissioning of utility vehicles. 4 From the institutional point of view, we insist on the creation of a regulatory commission independent sector and specialized basis, as happens in other sectors such as energy and gas. May Prompt Transport Observatory operation with the participation of the competent authorities and the different members of the chain, as a valuable resource to optimize time and streamline logistics transport operating costs.
