Data Analysis Lab 03 Adding Control Variables to Crosstabs

Re-make or go to the tables you created in Lab 2, Save As Lab 3

Add both Sex and Degree into the Pivot Table

Make a chart to help you analyze it

Print this out

Next Do the Analysis for Degree and Race, and print it out.

Now do the same analysis for race and sex, and print it out

Next replicate your work in SPSS and check for statistical significance

Save your dataset at the end of each lab

Add in labels for degree

Try reversing the same variables You will get very different results because it asks a different question

Now try race

Swapping race and degree we find some cell problems

Finally race sex and the dv

And you lose significant findings Reverse them And you lose significant findings

Save your dataset at the end of each lab
