Every English-speaking country has its own holidays,traditions and customs.It is very important to know the roots of the past and try to understand the relations between peoples. Americans and British people have general holidays f.e New Years Day,Christmas,Easter,Halloween and so on. But Americans have national holidays f.e Thanksgiving Day,Independence Day and so on.

Happy New Year!" That greeting will be said and heard for at least the first couple of weeks as a new year gets under way. But the day celebrated as New Year's Day in modern America was not always January 1.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!! CHRISTMAS is the most wonderful holiday.People celebrate it in the 25th of December. Children have Christmas holiday.Grown-ups and children decorate their houses with toys and plants.People always have Christmas Fur-Trees. An angel is the symbol of this holiday.

HALOWEEN!!!! HALLOWEEN is a fine holiday. People celebrate it in the 31st of October. People dress different and strange costumes.You may become a witch, a ghost and so on.Sometimes children say:Trick or Treat.

EASTER!!!! EASTER is a religious holiday. According to the tradition people give to each other coloured eggs. They are symbol of this day. People go to the church and thank to God for the best life.

ST.Valentinе’s Day!!!! In this holiday people the valentinеs card to each other. It is day of Love.This holiday has religious roots from the past. Traditionally people to each other LOVE and HAPPY.
