Aug. 22-26, 2016 This week in Ms. Ray’s Class Related Arts Schedule mray@spartanburg3.org 864-279-6126 This first full week of 5K was a success! Something SO exciting happened to us on Friday. On the playground, Maddox found an empty egg shell. Naturally, we began wondering about the egg and animals that hatch from eggs. We will begin learning about oviparous animals (animals that come from eggs) this week. We will learn about many different types of animals/insects that come from eggs in hopes to solve our “Egg Investigation” of what animal once lived in our egg shell. Also, thank you Luke for bringing in your cicada shells. This helped spark our egg shell interest. I must take a moment to brag on our kiddos. This week, something amazing I noticed was their politeness and kindness to one another. When playing I noticed they were sharing and talking to each other with respect as well as helping each other! Big kindergarten skill! Some of the things we will be focusing on this week follow: Math-counting up to 10 objects with one-to-one match (counting and putting finger on object as they count) Writing-continue Me Bag books (Luke, Maddox, Justice, Ruby, CJ) ELA-working with names/letters/letter sounds Science-Oviparous Animals Social Studies-All about Me (appreciating who we are) Related Arts Schedule Mon.- PE (please wear tennis shoes!) Tues.- Library Wed.- PE Thurs.- Art *wear old clothes* Fri.- Music Homework Choose objects for Me Bag Practice tying your shoe each day Read with an adult each day Practice counting to 50 out loud Enjoy your day off for Labor Day Monday!
