IAN Guidelines Write neatly and clearly Number pages in upper corners Correct mistakes Record the title and date on each page Keep your Table-of-Contents current Label all drawings Use sentences to communicate your observations, plans, explanations, and conclusions

Right Side – Input Side Odd numbered pages Input is all the information that you are supposed to learn Write down information you are given in class Use Cornell-style notes Write legibly, use highlighting and color to make important information stand out Be sure to date and label each page with a heading

Notebook Rules: Your INB should only be used for SCIENCE CLASS and COMES TO CLASS EVERYDAY DO NOT RIP OUT, TEAR or “DOG-EAR” pages Each page should have the DATE, PAGE# and TITLE All handouts MUST BE GLUED IN! Write ALL entries in the Table of Contents Please don’t DOODLE unless it relates to science BE COLORFUL & LOVE YOUR NOTEBOOK

Page 1 – Title Page Use the entire page to draw a picture of a “scientist” Draw a person that you picture when you think of the word “scientist” You can draw a background or props with your scientist Make it colorful!
