LESSON TOPIC: Graphing Linear Inequalities AIM: How do we graph the solution set of linear inequalities? OBJECTIVE: Students will be able to graph the solution set of linear inequalities on the x-y coordinate plane. CCLS: A.REI.D.12 – Graph the solutions to a linear inequality in two variables as a half-plane (excluding the boundary in the case of a strict inequality), and graph the solution set to a system of linear inequalities in two variables as the intersection of the corresponding half-planes. WARM UP: Homework Review (Modeling Inequalities)

KEY WORDS/VOCABULARY x-y coordinate system – A method of representing points in the plane or in space by means of numbers x-axis – The horizontal axis; the line whose equation is y = 0. y-axis – The vertical axis; the line whose equation is x = 0. x-intercept – The point when a graph of an equation crosses the x-axis. y-intercept – The point when a graph of an equation crosses the y-axis.
