Book Deserts and Our Plan to Help at Grimsley By Will Hornfeck, Mason Baker, & Walker Martin
What is a Book Desert? A geographic area where printed books and other reading material are hard to obtain or find
Without Books... Kids will be left with a word gap, separating the kids who have had access to books and kids who haven't had the opportunity to read from a young age Children have less mental stimulation
Benefits of Reading Mental Stimulation Vocabulary Expansion Memory Improvement Better Writing Skills Improved Focus Improved Concentration
Our Plan of Action at Grimsley In our group, we want to create an easy place to get to at school where kids can take and donate books for other students. We also want to keep our design creative and interesting to draw people to it. This place will help close this gap between the fortunate and less fortunate kids.
