Upbringing Born in Waterbury, Connecticut in 1949. Studied painting at the San Francisco Art Institute. Father was in the Air Force and the family moved frequently. Rolling Stones Started her career with rolling stones in 1970 as a staff photographer. At age of 23, she was promoted to chief photographer. Her photographs helped define the look of the magazine.
