Training Our Peace Pals…Helping Each Other In the playground I… A Have a problem that needs solving everyday B Have a problem once or twice a week C Never have problems that need solving

Training Our Peace Pals…Helping Each Other Is Playing Games in the playground fun? A Yes, all the time B Yes but sometimes there are problems I need help with C No, games are not fun at all

Training Our Peace Pals…Helping Each Other When I have a problem in the playground… A I ALWAYS can solve it myself B I sometimes would like help C I NEVER have problems in the playground

Training Our Peace Pals…Helping Each Other Problems I have had in the past include… A I think someone has cheated in a game B I haven’t had my fair share of goes C I have been pushed out (excluded) D All of these

How can I get help to solve the problem? Stop the game. Find a Peace Pal. Say “We have a problem, we need your help”. Find a quiet spot away from the game or group.

What Should Peace Pals do? Stand in a Triangle, facing each other. Use names. Say “Yes …. and …. How can I help?” Listen to one point of view – no interruptions, no questions. Listen to the other point of view – no interruptions, no questions. Ask “What do you want to happen?” Think of a solution. Has a rule been broken that needs to be agreed? Does there need to be an apology? Does everyone need to count to 10? Do you need to ‘Agree to Disagree’. Thank those who have asked for help. Share the problem with another Peace Pal – can they suggest anything different?

We Need Peace Pals that are… Carers Helpful Listeners Communicators Fair Trustworthy Respectful and who are Respected Positive
