Ostrich the flightless bird By: Mya Sanders

Physical description Long pinkish legs Can have black, brown, or white feathers A very puffy light brown tail A long pinkish neck Has two toes on each foot Half of its neck has black feathers on it It has 2 legs Has a curved abdomen An adult can get 280cm tall

Were it lives The ostrich is native to Africa They spend most of there time in savannas and grassland

Predator and prey The ostrich mostly eats small rodents, insects, lizards, and grass The ostrich’s predators are lions, hyenas, and crocodiles. The ostriches biggest predator is humans. Most humans hunt ostrich’s because of there feathers.

Adaptations One of the ostrich’s adaptations is its speed it can sprint up to 43mph An Ostrich has a strong kick it can kill a human or one of its predators like a lion

The babies The new born ostrich is called a chick The ostrich egg weighs 3.3 lbs. When an ostrich is born it looks like a chicken but much larger.
