Lights out What would you do?

How many of you have experienced a power cut How many of you have experienced a power cut? How many of you were freaking out because we couldn't use the charge our laptops or phones? Or suffer the disappointment of a warm fridge and a blank tv? This horror only lasts a couple hours, then power is restored and we go back to beloved technology. However, what if the power didn’t come back? What if we had a permanent shut down? No electrics, no light: just darkness and quiet. We, and hopefully you, are curious about what exactly happens when technology is suddenly stripped from us. Do we go crazy or do simply "let go" and move on with our lives? [insert film name] is a story of just how we would cope – if at all.

Are you afraid of the dark? Synopsis When the electricity cuts out in Brighton can people learn to survive without basic technology equipment? Imagine a life without lights and living in total darkness with no mobile phones or Wi-Fi available. 3 Different characters collide together in a fight for survival without running water, technology and modern day necessities. We are a nation of iPhone addicts making "video selfies" even as the world burns and crashes down, as shown in this film. Discover the terrifying truth as Brighton tries to cope without basic electricity. Are you afraid of the dark?

Genre & Influences The genre of our film is dystopia. However, there are various sub-genres. For example it has different Thriller/Horror elements within the film. Our film is influenced greatly by the film Cloverfield, in the way that the hand held camera is used by the characters to give the effect of one shakey and unprofessional point of view. As well as Cloverfield, our film is also based on the TV show Blackout in the way that our film follows more than one character.

Filmmaking & usp USP: All handheld to make it seem very real. The event is a typical with and power cut instead of a disease. There is no real main character there is three groups. Filmmaking: The trailer will start in three parts, looking at different characters and how they react to the power cut. They will be film in separate locations to show that it has happen all across the UK. We our individually going to film the separate family scene and then editing them in post together so that we can use different styles for each scene; handheld. We will also use news archives of fires and London riots to show the chaos in the community and create and realistic film.

Character Page In our trailer all the characters eventually collide together through different stories. Does their background influence one another? We got this idea from the film ‘Crash.’ Character group 1- a young loved up couple Character group 2- a male and a dog when out walking Character group 3- a family of 4.

Marketing competition/ freebees – posters, stickers, badges website blogs flyers To create a hype and a fanbase. Distribute to Picture house cinemas because this is an independent film we will have a low budget.
