The Sabbath

Exodus 20:8-11 Points to God’s rest at creation (Gn 2:1-3; Ex 31:17). A day of rest. To be a blessing to Israel (Ex 16:29). Included children, servants, livestock, and sojourners.

Work was a consequence of sin.

Deuteronomy 5:12-15 A repeating of the law. Reminded they were a slave in Egypt. Reminded God delivered them. Redemption.
