(A) A homemade carotico-aorto-iliac silicone vascular model was used to obtain these variables. A 6-Fr guiding catheter (arrow) and microcatheter (arrow head) were placed inside this system. (B) The stent was loaded in the microcatheter, delivered to the glass tube, and then deployed. The universal testing machine (WL2100; Withlab, Gunpo, Gyeonggi-do, Korea) was used to measure the loading force (i.e., the force needed to load the stent into the hub of the delivery microcatheter), the passage force (i.e., the force required to induce the stent to travel all the way up to the tip of the microcatheter), and the deployment force (i.e., the force required to deploy the stent in the glass tube).
