History Many believe the first Thanksgiving meal was celebrated in 1621 after their first harvest in the New World.

Hunting & Harvesting Squanto and other Native Americans taught the pilgrims how to catch animals and harvest plants for food.

The First Feast The Pilgrims celebrated their first successful harvest by sharing a feast with the Native Americans.

Thanksgiving Dinner Attended by roughly 53 Pilgrims and 90 Native Americans.

An American Tradition Americans commemorate the First Thanksgiving by giving thanks for all they have with a feast.

Common Menu Items Almost every Thanksgiving meal has a turkey. Other common food includes mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, bread, cranberry sauce, and apple and pumpkin pies for dessert.
