Joso, Tokyo Floods by: Elizabeth Stanton

Helicopters pluck Residents to Safety as rains lash Japan Sources: usatoday.com google.com

This article is about the people in Japan getting saved from slow-moving typhoon triggered floods.

The flood took place on the 9th of September, 2015 in Joso, Tokyo.

The massive flooding occurred after Kunigawa river burst through flood barriers No deaths were reported, but at least 15 people were injured - 2 of those were seriously injured The flood waters extended 5 miles from the breach (the dam) Typhoon Etau was downgraded to a tropical storm after passing through Japan’s main island on Wednesday, but heavy rains continued in part of Japan Around 100,000 people had to evacuate their homes

The residents of Joso, Tokyo will feel the impact of this news The residents of Joso, Tokyo will feel the impact of this news. Businesses, employees, company owners, and the government will also be affected by the flooding. All the people of Joso will be impacted financially and Children may not be able to go to school for a while.

This news is important to me because I do not want the tropical storms to come us. Also, it is important to me because if we get really bad tropical storms we can learn from Japan and have the emergency equipment needed to save us.

Next, I would like to see everything cleaned up and the people that are hurt get back to their normal lives. I want all the people of Joso to get their homes back, too.

What 2 events led to the flooding?

The typhoon led to the flooding by starting the rain storms The typhoon led to the flooding by starting the rain storms. The other event was the Kunigawa river’s rising water. It caused the flood barrier to break, spilling out waist-deep water.
