Sound Vocabulary Bi-Directional- Microphone pick-up pattern that picks up sound from 2 directions.

Sound Vocabulary Console- Another name for the whole mixing unit.

Sound Vocabulary Fade- Any volume change, up or down.

Sound Vocabulary Impedence- The amount of resistance a microphone has (measured in ohms). The less resistance the greater the sensitivity of the microphone.

Sound Vocabulary Monitor- A listening device, either in speaker, headphone or inner-ear form.

Sound Vocabulary Phantom Power- A signal boost that allows the use of extremely sensitive condenser microphones.

Sound Vocabulary Track- One layer of a recording, in a multi-track recording.
