Sport & Exercise Science Btec National Diploma Sport & Exercise Science

What are Btec Nationals? L3 BTEC Nationals are qualifications that are designed to provide specialist work-related qualifications in a range of sectors. They give learners the knowledge, understanding and skills that they need to prepare them for employment or Further Education. They attract UCAS points that equate to similar-sized general qualifications Diploma = 2 A Levels.

BTEC National in Sport & Exercise Science Vocational – high degree of practical involvement On-going assessment through coursework 720 guided learning hours 8 units in total 3 externally assessed units. 5 internally assessed units

BTEC National in Sport & Exercise Science Unit 1 – Sport & Ex Physiology – Ext. Unit 2 – Functional anatomy – Ext. Unit 3 – Applied Sport and Ex Psychology – Ext. Unit 4 – Field and Lab based Fitness Testing – Int. Unit 5 – Applied Research Methods – Int. Unit 6 – Coaching for Performance and Fitness – Int. Unit 8 – Specialised Fitness Training – Int. Unit 9 – Sociocultural Issues in Sport - Int.

BTEC National in Sport & Exercise Science Results Students receive points for each unit These points equate to their final award e.g. DD, DM, etc. P = E (A level equivalent – 40 UCAS pts.) M = C (80 UCAS pts.) D = A (120 UCAS pts.) D* = A* (140 UCAS pts.)

BTEC National in Sport & Exercise Science Clement is the son of former Queen's Park Rangers and England player Dave Clement and the brother of former West Bromwich Albion player Neil Clement. Clement, however, did not progress beyond non-league football as a player with Banstead Athletic and Corinthian Casuals. He concentrated on coaching from the age of 23, as he worked in the Chelsea centre of excellence while holding down a job as a PE teacher.

BTEC National in Sport & Exercise Science Exit Route Best Students (280+UCAS pts) will get offered places at Southampton Solent University on a 4 year sandwich degree in Applied Sports Science. Specialising in 1 of 4 areas (Coaching, Physiotherapy, Performance Analysis, Physiology) Inc. -1 year internship with RFC in specialism -1 year employment on completion of at a satellite club abroad. Result = A career in professional sport
