December 2010 Workbook Important dates: Acknowledge Reports: January 15, 2011 Submit CAPs: February 15, 2011 Submit PR1: June 1, 2011 Request CAP closeout: September 15, 2011 Acknowledge reports update: As of January 24, 812 of 833 locals had acknowledged reports. 5

Data Verification/Validation Update The MDE has started to review B-3 (Statewide Assessment) and MI-CIS data. If noncompliance is identified, findings will be issued in the April 15, 2011 workbook. 6

FM Module Updates Desk Audits will now be completed using the FM Module! ISD monitors who will be facilitating Desk Audits will be trained on the Module via a webinar. Date and time are TBA. 7

FM Update: B-4A and 4B Locals have been notified about FM on-sites and Desk Audits. Training of FM on-site team members was held on January 19, 2011. Visits start January 31 and end March 7. For additional resources, visit the CIMS website. 8

New Training Materials Documents newly posted on the public site under the FM tab  B-4 A/B Suspension and Expulsion include: Focused Monitoring Desk Audit Procedures (For use by ISD Monitors and Local RAP Teams) Overview of B-4A/B IDEA Regulations Related to Suspension/Expulsion SRR Form 13

Significant Disproportionality: Suspension/Expulsion Did you know that locals that are identified for 4B (Suspension/Expulsion by race/ethnicity) are very likely to be identified for significant disproportionality? Notification letters will be coming in early May. Locals with significant disproportionality will be required to attend June 2 meeting with Eleanor White in Lansing and will learn about the required 15% for early intervening services and other requirements. How do you know if you schedule this on your calendar? 14
