Capstone Project! March 31, 2017

Today’s Objective: Introduce to students the requirements of their Capstone Projects. Students will brainstorm and get into groups to discuss their capstone project. Kahoot is rescheduled for Monday! Study lesson 3, 4, and 5 in Photoshop!

Senior Year Capstone project This is a graduation requirement for CTE students. All students must complete a Capstone Project enter into Competition….Class competition is May 8th . get Certify in Photoshop/MOS Expertise Level. We also have other certifications if interested! Please see me. Passing the NOCTI test. Testing will begin the week of April 24th…… more information will be coming soon…..You will be getting your study guides next week with PowerPoint Presentation.

CTE Capstone You are to create a practical and innovative solution to an information technology challenge. For our shop we have: Gaming – designing an interactive game with documentation. (Note: There are other areas, please see me if you want to work in the other areas.) Projects will be evaluated on the originality of the solution and the team/individual insight into the challenge or opportunity—thinking “outside of the box”.

Due Dates: Class presentations will begin on Monday, May 8th! This will be a grade for the 4th quarter/2nd Semester. Week of May 8th will be set aside to twink your project for competition at Motorola. May 12th Capstone Project Competition at Motorola Mobility Foundation. More information coming soon…..

Resume Requirement Each team member must provide a professional resume Detailing your role and responsibilities on the project Listing any additional work experience, qualifications, awards and certifications This means: UPDATE your resume for the Capstone!

Resume Questions???? Objective Education Employment Other References If you have a good objective then use it! If not, leave it out! Education List your GPA (if it’s a high GPA/leave out the low ones!) Employment Recent job is listed first Don’t forget your dates List your duties (Anything that shows responsibility) Other List your skills, awards, certifications, volunteer work, extra school activities, etc. References Available upon request (make sure you have another sheet of paper with your names, e-mail, phone #.

Project Plan????? Professional plan A definition of the scope of the project (this is your research for the project, drawings of your pages, data collections (interviews, surveys, photos, etc) Timeline for the project including key activities, dependencies and milestones. List and written explanation of estimated hours to complete versus actual hours List of the project team members with a written explanation of their roles and expertise List and written explanation or any applications used to manage the project Final summary which outlines what was achieved and any lessons learned. Must be typed! 12pt A PowerPoint, Keynote or Storyboard presentation Actual demonstration of technology which should be on display for the entire Capstone event.
