Ms. Yeung’s Grade Five 5Y December 4-8th 2017 What we are learning E-mail: vyeung@ntcs.on.ca December 4-8th 2017 What we are learning Notes/Reminders: Language: Our focus this week is continuing to develop comprehension skills during our novel study, chapters #16-17. We will begin learning about pronouns in grammar and review our spelling words from lessons 7-11. We will continue with our letter-writing in the lab this week and hopefully send our first letter off to Egypt soon! Math: We will begin our fifth unit in math: Data Management! We will explore different graphs and learn how to interpret data. Social Studies: We will begin to explore the ‘First explorers’ and the reasons behind European explorers. Science: Test on Wednesday! Arts: -We will be working on winter themed art –A chalk-like depiction of the Aurora Borealis! WINTER CHANDOS PARENT VOLUNTEERS WANTED!! 5Y is still looking for parent volunteers to make this trip from January 15-17th happen. The Christmas Musical “A Tree Lot Christmas” will be held on Friday December 15th at 2:00 pm on the Track. Mark it on your calendars and see you there!  Our 5Y Christmas party will be held on the last day of school, December 22nd. More details will come this week!
