[The Meaning of Life] Where Did You Come From? Romans 11:25-36 Why Are We Here? [The Meaning of Life] Where Did You Come From?

Prevalent answer today is to claim it just “happened” Life said to evolve from lower life, which in turn evolved from non-life Everything we see is merely an accident – no purpose or intent in what “happened” Yet world filled with interdependent systems where multiple subunits must be in place to create the overall. Any one missing piece creates a non- working, and often harmful unit. Think how many parts must come together to create an eye or an ear. Random accidents don’t produce complex systems.

Science Contradicts This Claim Law of Biogenesis states that life only comes from life. Does not spontaneously rise from non-life A “law” means that it is solidly proven and no known contradictory evidence exists Yet for evolution to be true, requires this law to be broken Like always produces like – variations within a species, but never a different form of life arising from another form of life Fish always produce fish – Corn always produce corn For decades people have looked from missing links to claim that like doesn’t always produce like!

None of this addresses WHY people are different from the animals Why do we appreciate art, music and poetry? Why are we creative and animals are not? Why do we have a sense of right and wrong? Why do we feel guilty over doing things we know are wrong, even when we are not caught? Do animals even wrestle with the question of where do we come from?

Bible: We have been purposely made Genesis 1:1,2 “In the beginning…” Genesis 1:11,12 “And God saw that it was good” Genesis 1:26 “Let Us make man in Our image” Psalm 139:14 “fearfully and wonderfully made” Life came from Life – 1 Corinthians 8:6 Man is different because he is made in the image of God – Genesis 1:27 Everything was made by God – Psalm 102:25-27 This explanation fits – Hebrews 3:4 Romans 2:18-21

The Purpose of the creation It belongs to God – Ezekiel 18:4 It was made for Him – Colossians 1:16,17 Romans 11:36 Even the wicked still belong to God- Proverbs 16:4 Nothing exists without Him- John 1:1-3 It is by His choice that we are saved- Hebrews 2:10

What God Requires of Us To serve Him – Deuteronomy 6:2 To keep His commandments – Ecclesiastes 12:13,14 Not to make our lives miserable, but to be a blessing to us – 1 John 5:3 NEXT LESSON: The Meaning of Life: Why Are You Here?
