Within a short drive of Port Elizabeth, South Africa, the Addo Elephant National Park provides a sanctuary for elephants and other wildlife. Created in 1931, the park has grown over the years, and its elephant population has grown from 11 to almost 350.

Robben Island, off the southern coast of South Africa, near Cape Town, was the site of a prison for political prisoners during the apartheid era. Among its longtime residents was Nelson Mandela, who became the first black president of South Africa in 1994. Robben Island is now a museum.

Although a goodly number of Zulu people have left the native villages of South Africa for urban areas, most remain with their clans to live as their parents and grandparents did. Traditionally grain farmers and cattle herders.

This city is called Cape Town This city is called Cape Town. This is one of South Africa’s oldest European settlement. This city has expanded through a series of land-reclamation. The older side of the city extends inland to the foot hills of Table Mount.

This Nelson Mandela Bridge in Johannesburg is named after one of South Africa’s leaders. He was the first black president of South Africa in 1994.
