“Our Attitude in Giving”

“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 NIV

Two basic Attitudes in Giving 1. The reluctant attitude Someone who really doesn’t want to give They see giving as losing – Matthew 19:16-30 They give out of compulsion and guilt – Acts 5:1-11

Two basic Attitudes in Giving 2. The cheerful attitude Someone who is happy to give – 2 Corinthians 8:1-4; Acts 2:44-47; 4:34-37 They see giving as sowing – 2 Corinthians 9:6; Galatians 6:7-10 They give out of faith and love – 2 Corinthians 8:5; 8-9

How to Develop a Good Attitude Consider carefully what you are giving to Make sure it’s something you believe in Make sure you trust those who handle the money – Acts 11:29-30; 1 Corinthians 16:1-4
