If anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either If anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either. SECOND LETTER OF ST. PAUL TO THE THESSALONIANS

Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Isaiah 55:1

To know labour is to avoid it. German saying

UBI: Criteria individually without compulsory work requirement without means testing high enough to ensure existance and participation for everyone living here

UBI: Criteria individually less for children (or more)? make use of synergy effects each individual is a human-rights-holder

UBI: Criteria without compulsory work requirement In everey society goods have to be produced. political measures to ensure this are legitimate. But those measures must not threaten the subsistence level

UBI: Criteria Without means testing UBI is to redistribute wealth, so some will have to pay for it. Means testing creates hidden poverty. UBI is part of economic citizenship, it‘s a right, not charity.

UBI: Criteria high enough to ensure existance and participation People living in extrem poverty will benefit even from very small amount. The amount of UBI determines whether one is able to say 'no'.

UBI: Criteria for everyone living here UBI is a wealth-redistribution project from North to South. UBI is a global project. It may be financed by international tax. Basic food income should be the first step.

UBI and human rights Everybody is entitled to live in dignity. This includes a share of the wealth and participation in society. Participation in capitalism is solely possible through income. Capitalism does not provide income for all.  ubi, which ensures dignified life, is the means to ensure this human right for all.

UBI: human right to food . access to productive resources: food production (land, agricultural reform, jobs) access to economical resources: (staple foods or income) Staple foods have to be provided to all immediately, other resources as soon as possible

UBI: Objections Grundeinkommen „Nobody will bother to work anymore!“ Yes, they will! Who works will earn more No human being is able to "do nothing" Many people enjoy work! The others... will realign or push for payrises. And anyway: reduction of working hours social connection through work unloved jobs: Rationalisation of workflow!

Welches Menschenbild haben wir? UBI: idea of man what do you do in your spare time? Lounge in front of the telly? vicious circle of passivity alcohol How much autonomy can humans bear? Entitlement to laziness? Mistrust in others

Welches Menschenbild haben wir? UBI: employment irregular employment biograhpies atypical employment, self-employment freedom, clickworking excluding structures of the welfare state

Welches Menschenbild haben wir? UBI: On the shoulders of our ancestors Software processes knowledge technology division of labour

UBI: finance options income tax tax on company profits social insurance tax/“Bürgerversicherung“ sales/value-added tax tax on resources social budgets/savings capital returns tax/dividends

UBI: How to start? unconditional subsistence low basic income for all social insurance systems/“Bürgerversicherung“ secure certain groups time releases build on social infrastructure basic food income

UBI: Who are the winners? the unemployed the employed in "bad" jobs dangerous, dirty, boring deskilling low pay women dependents young people people with disabilities illegally employed creatives people in the South

Why unconditional basic income? We are able to - because goods and services are in abundance We can afford it We have to introduce it, if we want social security and peace.  There is enough for all!
