Music Reaction Directions: As I play the following musical clips, write down everything that comes to your mind. Do not stop writing until I stop the clip! Response #1 Response #2 Response #3 Response #4

Now… Choose one of your responses and create a four lined poem (Quatrain- 10 syllables in each line, ABAB)

“I See” Poems

“Notre Dame Cathedral” I see I hear I smell I taste I feel The majesty of the façade , cream and rusted green The rain falling from the gargoyles…Drop…Drop… Water is flowing down the side of our boat Footsteps all around me of the tourists waiting to get inside Salt beading up on my umbrella Burning of the candles people light in prayer, flickering softly Fresh made bread from the corner stand beneath the Eifel My mother says she wants to get an English trifle Warmth from my family around me as we walk together Damp feet from the constant rain Overwhelmed with awe at the building that stands in front of me

Add On Using one of the music reflections you wrote earlier, write the first line of a poem Pass it back- write a couplet Pass- write a line using personification Pass- write a line using an onomatopoeia Pass- finish the poem and give it a title (Don’t forget the quotes!!!)
