Scarlet Fever has a characteristic sand-paper like rash Pityriasis Rosea rash typically runs parallel resembling a Christmas tree. There is no association between strep pharyngitis and pityriasis rosea (Parja & Thappa 2008).

Herald Pach The typical pityriasis rosea rash begins with a single lesion that heralds the onset of a more generalized rash that comes after a period of 1-2 weeks.

Clinical Pearl Look for the “slapped cheeks” rash with circumoral pallor and red lips.
