Autonomic Nervous System Part of the peripheral nervous system it acts as a control system The ANS works by helping us with our heart rate, digestion, perspiration, diameter of pupils, and sexual arousal It also works with controlling breathing

Fight of Flight The flight or fight response is sometimes known as the acute stress response When a person is in a stressful environment the “firing” of neurons happens and then the sympathetic division of the ANS is activated

Fight or Flight continued…. Stress may have a bad effect on our bodies for example sometimes people get: Diarrhea Constipation Post-traumatic stress disorder Panic disorder
