Albuquerque, NM YOU can help save lives! From March 9 - April 17 The 40 Days for Life campaign is an effort to bring people of faith together in prayer to end the loss of pre-born human life and to pray for the healing of those affected by abortion. It is a focused pro-life effort that consists of: 40 days of prayer and fasting 40 days of peaceful vigil 40 days of public witness Take a stand for life “Deliver those who are drawn toward death, and hold back those stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, “Surely we did not know this,” Does not He who weighs the hearts consider it?? He who keeps your soul, does He not know it?? And will He not render to each man according to his deeds” -Proverbs 24:11-12

Where Does Evil Come From? Matthew 15:1-20 Where Does Evil Come From?

“This passage represents a head-on clash between Jesus and the leaders of orthodox Jewish religion. It is the collision of two views of religion and two views of the demands of God. In this passage is the whole Jewish concept of clean and unclean. It has nothing to do with physical cleanliness, or with hygiene, but an entirely a ceremonial matter…

For a man to be clean was for him to be in a state where he might worship and approach God; for him to be unclean was for him to be in a state where such a worship and such an approach were impossible. Barclay

Mark 7:1-4 (For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they carefully wash their hands, thus observing the traditions of the elders; and when they come from the market place, they do not eat unless they cleanse themselves; and there are many other things which they have received in order to observe, such as the washing of cups and pitchers and copper pots.)

Matthew 12:1-2 “At that time Jesus went through the grain fields on the Sabbath. And His disciples were hungry, and began to pluck heads of grain and to eat. And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to Him, "Look, Your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath!"

Luke 11:38-39 “His host was amazed to see that he sat down to eat without first performing the hand-washing ceremony required by Jewish custom. Then the Lord said to him, “You Pharisees are so careful to clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside you are filthy—full of greed and wickedness!”

(Exodus 21:15-17, Leviticus 19:3) "Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.” (Exodus 21:15-17, Leviticus 19:3)

Mark 7:11-13 But you say it is all right for people to say to their parents, ‘Sorry, I can’t help you. For I have vowed to give to God what I would have given to you.’ In this way, you let them disregard their needy parents. And so you cancel the word of God in order to hand down your own tradition.

Vs. 7-9 “hupokrites” an actor under an assumed character (stage-player- “behind a mask”) “One who feigns to be what he is not, especially one who pretends to be pious, virtuous, religious without really being so.”

Isaiah 29:13 “The Lord says: "These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men.”

Mark 7:7-8 “Their worship is a farce, for they teach man-made ideas as commands from God.’ For you ignore God’s law and substitute your own tradition.”

Vs. 10-15 "Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man."

Mark 7:19 “Food doesn’t go into your heart, but only passes through the stomach and then goes into the sewer.” (By saying this, he declared that every kind of food is acceptable in God’s eyes.)

“Do You know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?" Matt. 9:4 But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, "Why do you think evil in your hearts?... Matt. 12:25 But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them:

Matthew 7:1-5 “Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged…Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye.”

Matthew 13:40-42 “…so it will be at the end of the world. The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will remove from his Kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. And the angels will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Isaiah 9:15-16 “The leaders of Israel are the head, and the lying prophets are the tail. For the leaders of the people have misled them. They have led them down the path of destruction.” Luke 6:39 “Then Jesus gave the following illustration: “Can one blind person lead another? Won’t they both fall into a ditch?”

Vs. 16-20 "But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man.”

Jeremiah 17:9-10 “The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is? But I, the Lord, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve.”

John 3:3-7 “Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." 7 "… You must be born again [AMP. “born anew from above”]."

Ezekiel 36:26-27 “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.”
