‘Let music make you happy.’ My Music Magazine. Bounce ‘Let music make you happy.’

Editorial Mission Statement: The point of my magazine is to keep people updated with names of new songs, gossip about popular artists with exclusive interviews. Another point of my magazine is to allow people the opportunity to go to concerts to see their favourite celebrities. Most people cannot afford tickets, so this magazine gives you the chance to win concert tickets or to get discounts on some. The free headphones included will persuade more people to listen to music wherever and whenever they can so they can enjoy the latest pop music.

About the Genre I Chose: I have chosen to do a pop magazine as I listen to it a lot myself, and feel it is very popular and varied, allowing me to get a lot of ideas for the cover. The main focus of my magazine is to tell people about the latest songs and new artists, including gossip and stories/reasons why the song was written. This will persuade people to listen to these songs and artists, even if they are not well known. Pop is very popular to teenagers and young adults mostly as they seem to listen to lots of the latest music, which is mostly pop. This is helpful as teenagers are my audience.

About the Name and the Content: I chose the name Bounce for my magazine name because it is catchy and sounds upbeat. A lot of pop music has a bouncy tune which attracts people to like the song. The magazines main article will be about the artist featured on the cover, however I will still have interesting/important articles in it that will be written on either of the magazine cover, so people will have an idea about the other content inside.

Inspired Magazines: Magazine 1: Billboard Magazine 2: Vibe In this magazine I like how the colours are different to most magazines and there are only a few main colours. It is stylish and the image will stand out more as the background is dark and the artist is wearing a light dress. The text is big and clear which will attract peoples attention as they will be able to read it easily. I will do a clear, dark background for my music magazine cover. I like the idea of having a brick wall in the background and have my model wearing light clothing to stand out. I like the pose the women is doing on this cover. I can have my model holding a microphone or an instrument to represent pop music. The pose will be more original and will attract more buyers. I also like the colours of the text. However I think the peach pink text colour does not stand out a lot and does look hard to read on this cover. If I did a dark background, it will stand out and be clear to read. The colours are different to most magazines as usually the writing is black. The font of the text also makes it easy to read like the magazine above.

Content of the Magazine: My magazine will include: Top 10 most popular songs of the month. Behind the scenes of the song e.g. why it was made, and the story behind the lyrics. Interview with the artist featured on the cover. Competitions to win concert tickets and discount codes to get them cheaper. Details about the next artists to go on tour and the dates of each concert in the UK Hints about new song releases coming out the next month. Free pair or earphones worth £6.99

Unique Selling Point: The selling point of my magazine will be the discounts on concert tickets. This gives people the opportunity to see the artist live for a cheaper price as many people cannot afford concert tickets, especially teenagers. It also allows newer/unheard of artists to get more recognition if people go to there concerts. This will result in more people hearing their music.

Typical Reader Profile: My typical reader will be a 16 year old female who listens to a lot of music and loves all of the pop artists who are well known. She likes to find out about new artists to enjoy more music. She saves up her money to go to concerts to see her favourite artists live. This magazine will be good for her as she can win tickets and get discounts so she does not have to save up as much money.
