“REPENTANCE” Thayer: 1) to change one’s mind, i.e. to repent 2) to change one’s mind for better, heartily to amend with abhorrence of one’s past sins

Repentance is not: Just “coming forward” Conviction of sin – Acts 2:37 Prayer – Acts 8:22 Fear – Acts 24:25 Sorrow – Mk. 6:26 cf. 2 Cor. 7:9,10 Change of life

Repentance is an attitude: Toward God – Sorrow & return 2 Cor. 7:9,10; Ps. 51:4; Lk. 15:18-20 Toward Sin – Repudiation Ps. 51:1-4 Toward Self – Humility Lk. 15:19,21 Toward Others – Correction & restitution Acts 16:33
