Study of ascites within palliative care cancer patients in Mongolia Munkhzul Khatanbaatar MD 1, Odontuya Davaasuren, M.D, PhD, Prof2, Munguntsetseg Lamjav, MD3 Results: Study of 1681 cancer patients, hospitalized in Mongolian hospices shows, that 654 (38.9%) patients had liver cancer, within liver cancer patients 239 (36.54%) had ascites; 1027 (61.09%) had non liver cancer patients. Within 1027 (61.09%) non liver cancer patients 106 patients had metastasis to the liver, but ascites was not developed in the metastatic liver cancer patients. 56 (3.33%) patients with ovarian cancer had ascites within non liver cancer patients. 56 (3.33%) patients with ovarian cancer had ascites within non liver cancer patients. Conclusion: Liver cancer is main (38.9%) cancer in Mongolia, which is first cause of ascites (36.54%), ovarian cancer is a second cause of ascites (3.33%) in Mongolia. Aim: Study of the incidence of ascites within palliative care cancer patients in Mongolia Methods: Retrospective study of 988 cancer palliative care patients in the Palliative care department of the National Cancer Center, 434 patients in Hope hospice, 259 patients in Green Home hospice., totally 1681 patients hospitalized in 2013 in palliative care inpatient settings in Mongolia.
