EHES Annual Title I Meeting 2016-2017

What is Title I? The largest federal assistance program for our nation’s schools. Goal: A higher quality of education for every child. Eustis Heights Elementary is a Title I school. Funding from federal government, to the states, to individual school districts, to schools.

Title I Programs Provide Support Additional teachers and paraprofessionals Additional training for school staff Extra time for instruction (After school programs - Tutoring) Parental Involvement Activities Parent Resource Center A variety of supplemental teaching materials and supplies Smaller classes Voluntary Pre-K, Migrant Students, English Language Learners, and Homeless

Differentiated Accountability We are a Differentiated Accountability (DA) school on Monitor Status 68% Minority Rate 90% Free/Reduced Lunch Rate School Grades 2014-15 – C 2015-16 - C

Performance Goals School Improvement Plan Goals Goal 1: With high expectations teachers will understand, plan, deliver and differentiate standards-based instruction in all content areas for all students. Goal 2: By utilizing early warning systems data, EHES will increase attendance, positive student behaviors, and maintain a safe and supportive environment for all students.

EHES Title I Plan & Budget $276,573.00 is our total Title I budget amount for the 16- 17 school year Title I funds pay for the following: -staffing, writing teams, professional development, curriculum materials, software, software renewals, parent involvement. Allocation Request: 1 instructional coach 1 potential specialist 2 teacher assistants Questions? Comments? Suggestions?

EHES Parent Involvement Plan & Budget $ 5,423.00 is our total Parent Involvement budget amount for the 16-17 school year Parent Involvement Activities Meet the Teacher, Curriculum Night, STEM Night, Literacy Night Family Reading Days – Donuts with Dad; Muffins with Mom Parent Teacher Conferences Kindergarten/Grandparent Support Classes Kindergarten Round-Up Questions? Comments? Suggestions?

EHES Parent-School Compact School Responsibilities/Promises: Provide an environment that allows for positive communication; Provide quality curricula and instructional practices to meet the state’s challenging student performance standards; Provide opportunities for parents to be involved in their child’s education; and Support the partnership between home and school.

EHES Parent-School Compact Family Promises/Responsibilities: Read regularly with my child; Have high expectations for my child; Encourage good study habits; Help my child to resolve conflicts in a positive way; Communicate and work with teachers and school staff; Encourage my child to have a positive attitude about school and learning; and support school rules and procedures.

EHES Parent-School Compact Student Promises/Responsibilities: Student Pledge – I, _____________, promise to be prepared for school and ready to learn. I will respect the rights and property of others with kindness. I will do my best to make my school a safe and pleasant place to learn and work so that I may receive the best education possible.
