[ Pastor / CONGREGATION ] THE CALL TO WORSHIP Based on Psalm 34 [ Pastor / CONGREGATION ]

Minister: Our call to worship today is from Psalm 34:8; O taste and see that the Lord is good; happy are those who take refuge in him.

People: We come to your church hungry, Lord People: We come to your church hungry, Lord! We are hungry for comfort, and hungry for love.

Minister: We are hungry for a new way of living, hungry for your word.

People: Thank you for giving us this place and this time to worship, and we are eager to taste your goodness in community, with our brothers and sisters.

Minister: Bless us as we feast on the Bread of Life today Minister: Bless us as we feast on the Bread of Life today. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen!

Jesus is All the World to Me hymn #512

Jesus is all the world to me, My life, my joy, my all; He is my strength from day to day, Without Him I would fall

When I am sad to Him I go, No other one can cheer me so; When I am sad He makes me glad, He’s my Friend.

Jesus is all the world to me, My friend in tri-als sore; I go to Him for blessings and, He gives them o’er and o’er

He sends the sunshine, and the rain, He sends the harvest’s golden grain; Sunshine and rain, harvest of grain, He’s my Friend.

Jesus is all the world to me, And true to Him I’ll be; O, how could I this friend deny, When He’s so true to me?

Following Him I know I’m right, He watches o’er me day and night; following Him, by day and night, He’s my Friend

Jesus is all the world to me, I want no bet-ter friend; I trust Him now, I’ll trust Him when, Life’s fleeting days shall end.

Beautiful life with such a Friend, Beautiful life that has no end; Eternal life, eternal joy, He’s my Friend

Corporate Prayer of Confession ALL: Almighty God, You have raised Jesus from death to life and crowned Him Lord of all.

We confess our tendency to supplant His authority; we want to control our lives and constantly pursue the means to do so. Our lives are anxious because we fear not ge ing the things we most desire.

We do not do to others as we would have them do to us; our altars of self-ambition are covered with broken relationships. Loving Father, through the blood of Your Son reconcile us to Yourself and to one another.

Teach us how to seek first Your kingdom and righteousness, trusting that You will add to us everything we need. Place our hope and confidence in our Great High Priest, who ever lives to make intercession for us

SILENT PRAYERS OF THANKSGIVING AND CONFESSION

Assurance of Pardon (Psalm 30:11-12) Minister: You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, that my glory may sing Your praise and not be silent.

O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever! The peace of the Lord be with you always. People: And also with you.

He Leadeth Me, O Blessed Thought

He leadeth me, O blessed thought He leadeth me, O blessed thought! O words with heav’nly comfort fraught Whate’er I do, where’er I be, Still ’tis God’s hand that leadeth me.

He leadeth me, He leadeth me. By His own hand He leadeth me He leadeth me, He leadeth me! By His own hand He leadeth me! His faithful foll’wer I would be, For by His hand He leadeth me.

Affirmation of Faith (Ephesians 1:3-10) ALL: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him.

In love He predestined us for adoption to Himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will, to the praise of His glorious grace, with which He has blessed us in the Beloved.

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace, which He lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight

making known to us the mystery of His will, according to His purpose, which He set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in Him, things in heaven and things on earth.

Old Testament Reading: PSALM 18:2-3 (NLT) “The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. I called on the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and he saved me from my enemies.

New Testament Readings:. Luke 6:35 (NLT) 35 “Love your enemies New Testament Readings: Luke 6:35 (NLT) 35 “Love your enemies! Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to be repaid. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked.

1 Peter 3:8-12 (NLT) “Finally, all of you should be of one mind 1 Peter 3:8-12 (NLT) “Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude. Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you.

Instead, pay them back with a blessing Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will grant you his blessing. For the Scriptures say, “If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies.

Turn away from evil and do good Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it. The eyes of the LORD watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers. But the LORD turns his face against those who do evil.”

Minister: The grass withers, and the flowers fade, but the Word of the Lord is forever. People: Thanks be to our great God

Spirit of the Living God hymn #389

Spirit of the living God, fall fresh on me Spirit of the living God, fall fresh on me. Spirit of the living God, fall fresh on me. Melt me, mold me, fill me, use me. Sprit of the living God, fall fresh on me

Soul of heaven, heart of God, wash over me Soul of heaven, heart of God, wash over me. Soul of heaven, heart of God, wash over me. Cleanse me, teach me, hold me, reach me. Soul of heaven, heart of God, wash over me.

Holy presence, love divine, cast out my fear Holy presence, love divine, cast out my fear. Holy presence, love divine, cast out my fear. Shield me, free me, call me, lead me. Holy presence, love divine, cast out my fear.

It Is Well With My Soul Hymn # 705

When peace like a river attendeth my way; When sorrows like seabillows roll; Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say; “it is well, it is well with my soul”

It is well (it is well) with my soul (with my soul); It is well, it is well with my soul

Though Satan should buffet, tho’ trials should come; Let this blest assurance control; That Christ has regarded my helpless estate; And hath shed His own blood for my soul;

It is well (it is well) with my soul (with my soul); It is well, it is well with my soul

My sin O, the bliss of this glorious thought; My sin not in part but the whole; Is nailed to the cross and I bear it no more; Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul;

It is well (it is well) with my soul (with my soul); It is well, it is well with my soul

And Lord, haste the day when the faith shall be sight; The clouds be rolled back as a scroll; The trump shall resound and the Lord shall descend; Even so it is well with my soul;

It is well (it is well) with my soul (with my soul); It is well, it is well with my soul
