Conversation between physicists in the ATLAS Control Room with the public via video conference Remote tour of the Control Room with explanations of the operational controls and screen content Candid discussion of current events in ATLAS, the LHC, CERN, particle physics and science, in general Public webcast of the event to interested classmates, parents, teachers and the public, at large Recording of the event for future reference in the classroom and at home New tool to improve our ability to converse with the public, regardless of geographical location Number of Annual Visits increased from 6 in 2011 to 65 in 2013 The ATLAS Virtual Visit Portal Local Technical Set-Up Recent Remote Participants Instituto de Física Corpuscular in Valencia, Spain Masterclass, University of Birmingham, UK The State University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil Schools Fontes Pereira de Melo in Porto, Portugal.
