Country of Origin Profiles Pew Hispanic Foundation Nearly two-thirds of Hispanics in the United States self-identify as being of Mexican origin.

Mexicans 31.7 Million Mexicans resided in the USA in 2009. (32 Million in 2010) Mexicans are the largest Hispanic group in the USA, two-thirds or (65.5%) of the USA population. 36% of Mexicans in the USA are foreign born 23% of Mexicans are U.S.A. citizens http://pewhispanic.org/files/factsheets/71.pdf

Puerto Ricans 2.9 Million Puerto Ricans were born in the USA and 1.4 Million were born in Puerto Rico (who are natural born citizens of the USA)
