Personnel Accountability (Chapter 1 / Section 3) Accountability helps your leaders know where their personnel are and the state of their welfare. Accountability is one of the ways your leaders take care of you as a cadet. Accountability is a key component of any military organization

Personnel Accountability (Chapter 1 / Section 3) Formations Muster Formations Absent without Leave [AWOL]

Personnel Accountability (Chapter 1 / Section 3) Formations are held prior to any required event. Typical day consists of at least 3 formations: -Breakfast formation (Reveille) : 0720 -Lunch formation: 1205 -Dinner formation (Retreat): 1755

Personnel Accountability (Chapter 1 / Section 3) ALL Cadets are required to be present at ALL formations unless excused by the Company Commander or Member of the Commandant’s Department. - You must have permission from Company Commander, TAC or Special Orders to miss a formation. - Professors and Coaches cannot excuse you except through written and approved Special Orders. Though cadet chain of command cannot excuse you from a formation, you must go through the chain of command to be excused by Company TAC.

Personnel Accountability (Chapter 1 / Section 3) Other times of accountability include: -ESP All-Ins (1950 hrs Sunday and Wednesday Nights.) -2300 All-Ins during the week -0000 All-Ins on Friday / Saturday You must be present in your room at these accountability times.

Personnel Accountability (Chapter 1 / Section 21) ALL IN CHECKS: Conducted within 10 minutes of The end of each general leave period. The beginning of ESP. Lights out. Conducted by 1st or 2nd class rank holders. All-in Challenge and Reply.

Personnel Accountability (Chapter 1 / Section 21) ALL IN CHECKS: Cadets will be in their room NLT 1950 hrs. for the ESP All In Check Cadets will be in their room NLT 2250 for the 2300 All In Check

Personnel Accountability (Chapter 1 / Section 21) ALL IN RESPONSES: “All In”…All cadets assigned to a room are present in that room. “All Right”…A roommate is not in the room at the time but the roommate present knows that the other has an authorized reason for not being present. “Not All Right”… A roommate does not know where his or her roommate is.

Locked Doors/Keys After the 2300 All-In Check…… LOCK YOUR DOOR There are no exceptions to this policy! LOCK YOUR DOOR WHEN NOT IN YOUR ROOM

Locked Doors /Keys You must carry your room key with you at all times. If occupants are not present in your room, your door must be locked! All doors are locked after 2300 All – Ins even if there are occupants

The White Book Chapter 8 – Leaves, Passes, Incentives & Privileges

Overnights and Weekend Leaves Cadet Leave (Chapter 8) Overnights and Weekend Leaves - 4C Fall Semester: NONE - 4C Spring Semester: 1 ON, 1 WKD Special Leave Business Pass Family Matters Emergencies Military Leave General Leave - Friday, Saturday [2400 hours] - Sunday [1800 until Parent’s Day, then 1950] . Talk about passes – carefully explain the hours

Cadet Leave (Chapter 8) All leave is requested online thru CAS (Cadet Accountability System) 2nd Semester Freshmen may submit a request for Overnight/Weekend leave any time on Monday-Thursday of each week. Any Cadet can submit a request for Emergency/Special Leave at any time. Any Cadet that is a member of the Guard or Reserves is able to request Military Leave through CAS as well.

Cadet Leave (Chapter 8) Leave to be taken during the weekend must be requested NLT the Thursday prior to the weekend in which the leave will be taken.

Cadet Leave (Chapter 8) After you submit leave in CAS, inform your Company Commander that you have done so. All Cadets requesting Overnight or Weekend Leave must be conduct, academically, and physically proficient. You cannot take the leave you requested until it is approved by both the Company Commander and the Company TAC Officer.

Cadet Leave Requesting Leave Select Leave Type Enter Information Click “Submit Leave Request”

Cadet Leave Requesting Leave When you request leave, you must provide a detailed reason in the “Notes” section explaining why you would like to take leave.

Cadet Leave Requesting Military Leave Military Leave is for cadets who drill with a Reserve or National Guard Component. Request Military Leave by selecting “Military Leave” and explaining that the leave is for Weekend Drill. Military Duty Leaves must be submitted to the Company TAC Officer NLT 5 working days in advance of departure date, with the exception of emergencies.

Cadet Passes (Chapter 8) 24 Hour [Dean’s List only] 48 Hour [Gold Stars only] Charleston Pass

Cadet Passes (Chapter 8) 24 HOUR PASS Cadets who earn Dean’s List, a semester GPA of 3.2 or better with no grade lower than a C, are authorized one 24 hour pass during the next semester. Cadets who wish to use their 24 Hour Pass are authorized to miss classes with the professor’s permission

Cadet Leave (Chapter 8) 48 HOUR PASS Cadets who earn Gold Stars, a semester GPA of 3.70 with no grade lower than a C are authorized one 48 hour pass during the next semester. Cadets who wish to use their 48 Hour Pass are authorized to miss classes with the professor’s permission. Cadets who earn Gold Stars are will only get the 48 Hour Pass, and not the 24 Hour Pass.

Cadet Leave (Chapter 8) PASSES AND PROFICIENCY In order to take an earned 24 or 48 Hour Pass, cadets must also be conduct and physically proficient. The Citadel’s 4 Pillars are: Character Academics Military Fitness

Charleston Passes Cadets (including Knobs) with Gold Stars or Dean’s List, who are otherwise proficient, are authorized: Wednesday CP (2nd Semester ONLY) beginning after last scheduled activity (but not before 1300 hrs) until 2230 hrs.

CAS Sign In/ Sign Out When departing Campus on authorized leave, you must sign out. When you return to campus you must sign back in. You will use CAS to sign out/sign in.

4th Class Cadets: Privileges No Car May use the east door in Capers Hall and the rear and Westside door of Jenkins Hall. No CPs until Spring Semester NO CIVILIAN CLOTHES AUTHORIZED (2nd Semester can change into civvies outside of 10mi radius). Knob Lounge- 2nd Floor of Mark Clark Hall 1st Division Vending Machines Only May join any cadet organization for which they qualify AFTER academic classes begin.
