Typical Nature of a Frisian Island salt meadows (salt marshes) : - mainly in south and west in front of the dike flooded by the salty sea water at irregular intervals dunes mainly in north and east held together by deep-rooting plants > protecting the human beings against the floods beaches travelling because of the wind > whole island moves from west to east

Dunes
Dunes As dunes are a natural protection against the floods, they have to be preserved. Therefore noone should enter the dunes.
