Background Large nos. (100K) of Self Employment Workers are not in TU Because these workers are not in TU, they are not entitled to Social Security Benefit Majorities are women with family commitment

Objectives 25% of Self Employment workers in Columbo are part of NTUF They get Social Security benefit: death insurance, disable benefit, eye operation, Childrens scholarship and housing loan benefit are available after 1 year They will also get medical/hospital benefits after joining TU for 5 years
