Why Plan your meals? Come up with a list in your notes.

#1 – To provide adequate nutrition. Best possible nutrition for members Canada’s Food Guide Diet needs

#2 – To Meet the special needs of each family member Age and sex of people eating Personal likes and dislikes Activity level of people being served Number of people being served Special diets

#3 – To control the money spent on food Food choices can be made to stay within the food budget Planned shopping will result in minimum waste Use of food already on hand, including leftovers, can be planned. Costly spur-of-the-moment shopping can be reduced

#4 – To save time and effort while shopping, planning and cooking each meal Shopping can be done less frequently It saves time for other things you need or want to do Everything needed to prepare a meal will be on hand With the decision of what to prepare already made, making it easier and takes less time The required equipment will be available for use
