A Typical Day 8.45 – 9.00 – Morning challenge activity 9.00 – 9.30 – Register and assembly 9.30 – 10.30 – Lesson 1 10.30 – 10.45 – Snack and break time 10.45 – 11.00 – Phonics 11.00 – 12.00 – Lesson 2 12.00 – 1.00 – Lunch 1.00 – 1.30 – Reading Roundabout 1.30 – 1.45 – Handwriting 1.45 – 2.45 – Lesson 3 2.45 – 3.00 – Story time

P.E. Thursday am and Friday pm Kit – labelled, trainers for outdoor, goes home half termly to be washed Earings – no Earings on P.E days

Reading To an adult twice a week, individually to TA or CT, group during a reading roundabout Will move to the next book band once all current band targets have been met New targets will be stuck in their diaries Use reading record to record times read at home Children may change their book any day when they come in in the morning

Homework Spellings Spellings will be given weekly Tested on Monday New spellings Tuesday/Wednesday Homework Will begin after half term Goes home on Friday Due in Monday or Tuesday

Handwriting This year we have introduced a new handwriting scheme across the whole school Every letter has a ‘woosh’ at the beginning that starts on the line before forming each letter This is to support the raised expectation of children joining most letters in their writing by the end of KS1 and to further improve the presentation standards across the school

Other information Year Group Blog – accessed via the school website, updated weekly Newsletters will be half termly SATs – We will hold a workshop with more information in January (date TBC) Extra learning … Bug club – new logins to come, existing ones can be used till then but will not have new books allocated Purple Mash - new logins to come, existing ones can be used till then Mathletics – existing logins will continue, we are waiting for the classes to be reassigned School website – Extra information
