German Children

During WW 2, German children had to be evacuated as well as in the rest of the countries. Notice that they are holding a flag with the Swastika symbol on them. Do you think they know what the Nazis were doing to the Jewish?

Hitler Youth In Germany, children were forced to pledge themselves to Hitler and join a force called Hitler Youth. They were told to spy on their parents so that of they were breaking the law, the children could report back to the Nazis

Thousands of children across Germany joined the Hitler Youth Hitler's plan was quite ingenious; children were very easy to manipulate, especially young ones, such as these boys Notice the haircuts; shaved at the sides, with the top slicked to the side. This is the type of haircut that children in the Hitler Youth would of had Thousands of children across Germany joined the Hitler Youth

Jewish Children Jewish Children

Jewish Children Jewish children (As well all of the other Jews, Gypsies or Mentally/Physically disabled people) were the main targets. Hitler believed that all Jews were evil and selfish, as they surrendered Germany in the 1st World War (They had made up the majority of the Government).

Jewish children had to go into hiding to escape Hitler’s grasp; if they were caught, they would be sentenced to a concentration camp to be killed. Jewish children had to wear armbands with the Star of David on it to identify them as Jews Concentration camps were a good way to kill Jews to the Nazis; one of the reasons they were invented was because Hitler didn’t want to waste a bullet on them

English Children

English children in London had to be evacuated from their homes during World War 2; it was too dangerous for them, so they moved to the countryside. There, they would not be in as much danger, as London was the main target in England.

These children are evacuees, sent to the country to escape the bombs These children are evacuees, sent to the country to escape the bombs. They have been labelled so that the person they are going to can recognise them This a group of children wearing their gas masks. This is exactly why the children were evacuated; to avoid bombs and death. Children didn’t have that many treats during WW2 because of rationing. These children have substituted their ice creams with carrots on sticks.

Facts

Propaganda was in every country; mainly about evacuation Propaganda was in every country; mainly about evacuation. These are a few English propaganda posters

Sometimes, children had to play with gas masks on through the day in case of bombs or gas. This picture suggests that wearing a gas mask could be fun.
