Monthly Testicular Self Exam Testicular cancer most common in males between the ages of 15-35 Step 1: Using the pads of the fingers, check for pea-sized lumps Step 2: Check for any discoloration or skin irregularities on scrotum Step 3: Check to see if one testicle is drastically larger than the other If any of these symptoms are present, see a doctor for further care.

Pap Smear Exam and Pelvic Exam The pap smear checks for abnormal/cancerous cells on the cervix. A woman should have this exam every year, once she turns 18, or becomes sexually active. Step 1: Clinician will insert a speculum into the woman’s vagina to slightly separate the vaginal walls Step 2: With a cytobrush, the clinician will take a swab of the cells on the cervix Step 3: Speculum is removed. Step 4: Clinician will then insert two fingers into the vagina and press down on the abdomen, checking for abnormalities and for pain or swelling. This exam usually takes about 3-5 minutes Important to note that not all clinicians and doctors routinely screen for HPV, patients should request this exam.

Monthly Breast Self Exam Step 1: Using the pads of the fingers, feel the entire area of the breast, checking for pea-sized lumps. Step 2: Check for any discoloration or irregularities on the breast skin. If any of these symptoms are present, see a doctor for further care.
