OPAC OPAC

Hi! I’m OPAC, your library computer.

OPAC stands for Online Public Access Computer

I can help find a book in the library.

This is how I look.

I can give information like… The book is checked in and should be on the shelf or The book is checked out and is not on the shelf.

I can show the call number of the book which is the address of where the book lives in the library.

Watch while your friendly library assistant shows YOU how she can use ME, OPAC, to find a book about snakes. Library assistants. Do a keyword search for snakes. Find a book on snakes that is checked in. Go and get the book from the shelf.

And watch as she goes and finds that book on the shelf!
