How do we add the fractions if the denominators are different polynomials? We first need to factor all the denominators, then find the LCD How do we find LCD? The LCD is the product of all of the factors of the first denominator times all factors of the second that are not factors of the first.

Subtract: LCD is (x – 3) (x – 1) (x + 3)

Simplify:
