Symposium on Polymer Surfaces and Interfaces Rigoberto C. Advincula, Department of Chemistry and Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Houston, Houston, TX 77204 The focus of this symposium was to provide an international venue by which researchers can present their latest research findings and ideas relating to surfaces and interfaces of polymers. Surfaces and interfaces collectively includes thin films, surface grafting or modification, interfacial and colloidal phenomena, as well as nanocomposites. This field includes many research aspects in which chemists, physicists, engineers, etc. were able to contribute in the investigation of fundamental properties of polymers in an interdisciplinary field. This has benefited from the introduction of new methods of chemical synthesis (polymer brushes) as well as new physical methods for investigation (tribology and surface probe microscopy-SPM). The meeting was held at the 233rd ACS National Meeting in Chicago, March 25-29, 2007. The sponsoring organization/division is mainly the ACS Polymer Division and also co-sponsored by the PMSE Division. Co-organizers: Al Cosby, Jeff Youngblood, Ying Chang PRF #46963-SE.
